One day. 24 hours. 1,440 minutes. 86400 seconds. To a single person a day seems a minimal time increment. A person can only do so much in one day. But one may be surprised when they really comprehend the incredible value and importance that each day carries on its shoulders.
In a single day, 365,000 new babies are born. That means that around 15,208 tiny humans arrive on our planet every hour. 151,600 people die everyday though. The world has a sometimes harsh and sometimes rewarding way of balancing everything out.
Around 18 million people celebrate their birthday. Insects such as the mayfly will go through its whole life cycle in one day. Every human will say an average of 48,000 words. People in China will work incredibly hard to harvest 510,000 tons of rice, while the chickens of the world lay 190 million eggs.
Each human will lose and reproduce over 50 trillion cells and inhale 23,000 times. Every single person will take an average of 8,000 steps. Human hearts alone will beat 104,000 times and pump 2,000 gallons of blood through the body. We will laugh an average of 15 times and make an average of $16 per day.
It is hard to even comprehend how much happens in just 24 short hours. For some creatures this is an entire lifetime. For some it is their first day on earth, while for others it is their last. Every day has a unique significance to every individual.
